Each chapter lasts about one month and includes notes, hands-on practise, worksheets,

textbook assignments, math challenges, quizzes, and tests.

Expect to have homework assigned, especially if you don't finish it during regular class time.

Math help is available to all grade 7s & 8s on request. I'm usually available after school until 4:30.

A Chapter Test is written following the completion of each Chapter (one chapter/month).

Marks are broken down in the following way:

• Attitude & participations     15%
• Homework Assignments     15%
• Math Challenges                 20%
• Quizzes & Worksheets        25%
• Tests                                   40%

Math Test Re-Write Policy

1) You write the Chapter test. The mark will count as part of your math mark.

2) If you score 70% or less, you are entitled to re-write the test. This means

    that you do not have to automatically write the second test. The Re-Test will be

    a different one than the first test.

3) The Re-Test will be written after school in Room 253.

4) It will be marked and returned as soon as possible. The score on this

    second test doesn’t count as part of your math mark if it’s lower than the first test score.

5) There is a way to avoid the second test: Come to Math Help if you’re having

    difficulty and get a satisfactory score on the first test.
